Chemical

Well last night it was confirmed a chemical pregnancy, we want to thank Dr Shivani and the SCI team and of course to our surrogate Sarita.

Weak Positive

The words no IP's want to hear..... We received our results on Friday and beta hCG was only 5.52. They are retesting today but it is expected that this is a chemical pregnancy.

We are not sure when we will able to try again but we are not giving up.

Apologies for not blogging while in Delhi, between appointments, catching up with other IP's and running after a toddler, time wasn't on my side!

So, things went well. I had 10 eggs collected, 7 mature eggs and 5 of those fertilsed. On day 3 (transfer day) we had 3 x 8 cell grade 1 embryos and 1 x 8 cell grade 1.5 embryo all of which were transferred into our surrogate. We should find out this weekend if this cycle worked, fingers crossed!!

Speaking of our surrogate, her name is Sarita, she is married, 26yrs old and has 2 kids. We met her when we signed our contracts and she was so lovely. She seemed overwhelmed but excited to be start this journey with us.

I can honestly say this 2ww has been far more torturous than the previous 2, I'm not sure why but I have felt very anxious this time around, thank god we are nearly at the end of it.


I will update over the weekend and give a more detailed rundown on our trip and results of the beta hCG test.

Back in Delhi

Long time no post again!!!!!! I have promised myself that this year I am going to blog more and since we are in Delhi, now is a good time to start!

First things first, Mackenzie is now 17 months old and the time goes by quicker each day. She definitely takes after her mummy's side of the family with her strong will and determination. She is already starting to assert herself, bring on terrible twos!!! She goes to daycare 3 days a week at the moment and she loves it. We have a couple of  incidences of hair pulling and I am sure it was hair envy but we have got that all sorted now, thank goodness. Otherwise she is still happy, healthy and we love her to bits!

Now onto the next exciting news.... We landed in  Delhi on Saturday just gone to cycle again for a sibling or two for Mackenzie. As all of you know, cycling brings back fear and anticipation of will it work but I believe in projecting positivty into the universe and it will come back to you.

Mackenzie handled the flight like a true traveller, she slept, ate and watch movies without fuss, thank goodness for that. We flew Perth to Bangkok, stayed at a golf resort and Mark played night golf (yes, I am the most amazeballs wife ever!!!!!) and then we had a 7.30am flight to Delhi the next morning.
We are staying at Svelte hotel and Suites which is where we stayed when we were here for Mackenzie's birth, brings back a lot if happy memories.

Tonight we are going out for dinner with 10 others that are either here to cycle, picking up babies of moral support, should be a great night.

So today is day 1 of stimulation meds and so far so good but we still have at least another 9 days of injections, blood tests and ultrasounds, I will keep you all posted as we go, promise!

Well off to get ready for dinner, I'll post some new photos of Mackenzie soon.

Happy Birthday to our Princess!!

1 year ago today our lives were changed forever, our beautiful daughter Mackenzie was born. It's hard to believe its been a whole year. Time has gone so quickly it truly feels like yesterday that we were in India at Spring Meadows waiting nervously in the waiting room for Mackenzie to be born.

 

The first year has been full of fun, laughter and joy. Mackenzie is such a good little girl and we feel blessed to be her parents.

 

I have a post written to catch you all up on what's been happening since I last posted over 7 months ago!!!!! Bad blogger award goes to me!!!! But I wanted this post just to be a birthday post.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about Jyoti, Dr S and the team at SCI, without them I wouldn't be writing this post. I hope that Jyoti is fully recovered and her life has returned to normal, we will be forever grateful and will never forgot what an amazing and special person Jyoti is and she will always be part of our family. I have been showing Mackenzie pictures of Jyoti and talking about her so when we go back to Delhi in the near future for #2 if we are lucky enough to see Jyoti again Mackenzie will hopefully recognise her.

We had a small birthday dinner and cake with family on Tuesday as Mark unfortunately went back to work yesterday and I am lucky to be able to have a day off work today to spend it with Mackenzie. We are having a bigger party with family and friends on the 27th, which just happens to the day she became an Aussie citizen.
